Yamaha XS 400 Special Edition, 1981. Our third Project bike of 2005.
Not really in bad condition. Engine runs well enough too.
As always we start by stripping the bike to the frame for all parts to be inspected, cleaned, painted
polished or replaced where required.
Total project time - 96 hours.

The strip down.
Work begins 17th November 2005

First Stage rebuild.
19th November 2005. Full service & service parts replacement on the engine.
replacement carbs fitted and set up. Frame re-painted, Engine painted and polished.
All nuts, bolts & fasteners replaced. Every nook and cranny cleaned and painted where required.
All chrome work scrubbed & polished.

2nd Stage rebuild.
21st November 2005. Re assembly and detailing work.

Final re assembly and detail work completed.
26th November 2005. The finished bike.
